What did the Ancient Vikings use for currency: how was it used?
The Vikings and Persians had some similarities and differences in currency.
Some similarities that the Vikings and the Persians he'd were currency according to the text-book Human Heritage "...The Lydians who invented the use of coins, and the Persians who spread their use." so then if the Persians had not spread the money around then the Vikings would not even have any money. Even though Viking money did not have value it did have importance like a bag of silver for 2 loads of timber they didn't have value they just had the importance. The Persians and Vikings had this in common and then another thing that they had in common was that back then they did not have the one dollar coin that the government issued in the year of 2000
On the other hand the Vikings had no value in their money and only importance on the specific item no specific value for example silver was more important than gold so silver was used even more than gold. Another example if you did not get the first is silver could have been more important back then, than diamonds so it was used even more but today diamond is more valuable than silver so then they would want the diamonds even more than the silver. Another thing that the Vikings had was that the Vikings would be killing people to steal their money and mostly everything that was really important not valuable important like silver.
Secondarily the Persians would be spreading out the money that they owned by telling other people about their value. So once the Persians would start telling other people to trade for them they would trade other people the currency/money. Then the people would know about the money so they would go out and spread their knowledge about this currency. Also the people that just learned about this currency would go off and share about it even more and so on. Another thing that the Persians do is that the Persians do not trade but once they conquered another city-state they would encourage them to go into trading so then they can advertise their money to spread the word about.

Here is a graph about the Ancient Vikings Economic system.
|
What was used for currency and how was it used.
The Vikings economic system was very basic.
The Vikings economic system was very basic because according to World's of the past The Vikings says "The Vikings did not have their own currency but they did trade." The Viking would trade right but when they did trade they would be trading something of similar value like a 2 animals for a load of timber. This is why the Vikings economic system was basic. Then when the Vikings had currency it was a lot more made of value then today/ in the present day like today a penny would be worth 1 cent and in the olden days it would be about 1 dollar in terms of today.
The Vikings did not really have any value like how it was used. When the Vikings traded they did not trade with the exact value like $1 for 4 quarters instead they would trade something for similar value. The Vikings did not have a certain number for a object it just had a value.
