What did the Vikings invent and discover?
The Vikings made inventions that benefit their sea and land exploration in search for a place to settle/conquer. The Vikings made longboats, a state-of-the-art ship building design. The longboat allowed the sailor to move forwards, backwards, and side to side easily, shortening the time it takes to travel. Another invention they made was the compass. The compass helped them map and keep track of where they were when they found land; preventing getting lost.

The Vikings were excellent explorers. They discovered land to settle on and civilizations to conquer. Many people believe that Christopher Columbus was the first to discover America; But the vikings were the first. The vikings, at first, invaded civilizations, and stole from them. The vikings soon realized that instead of taking over civilizations they could trade with them |
The Greeks made inventions that are still used today that are major contributions to society, such as the Olympics. The Olympics were a religious celebration to entertain Zeus; a Greek God. Another example is very surprising to many, the idea and first models of an alarm clock.
Not to mention the major scientific and mathematical ideas and discoveries still used today. The Greeks we far more successful than the Vikings, the Greeks had brilliant teachers, scientists, and philosophers that benefited their city-state.
On the other hand, the vikings made inventions that benefitted their exploration in finding a place to settle/conquer. They made longboats, a state-of-the-art boat building design. The longboat allowed the Vikings to easily turn, go forward, and backwards easily on water, decreasing the time it took to sail. Another invention they made that helped them navigate was the compass. When the Vikings found new land, they used the compass to map which way is North.
